Too Late (for) Poems: Late Later Poems 2022-2024
Wade Dowin’s third collection, his follow-up to "Living Mortal: Later Poems."
This book looks and reads like a poet’s notebook, displaying a range of styles.
Mindfully aware of the transience of our moments, as in life the whole becomes
more than its parts. But the parts make the journey.
“ It was there then , sitting by the lake ,
pencil and pad in the sun ,
listening to the waves and the gulls crying overhead ,
that it was revealed .
That the center does hold , or it can ,
only shifting in time and space
becoming larger or smaller
in what its circle encompasses . “

Living Mortal: Later Poems 2019-2022
Poems of living life in this existence in which we find ourselves, in this world, in the
moments which we have. Humanistic, naturalistic, a perspective from that certain
age of conscious, appreciative and aware mortality.
Skin By Skin's Own Prisms Burnt: The Compleat Werks
Poetry & Other Stuff c.1965 - c.1986
( This volume might better be called " The Compleat Early Werks." )
The poetry, lyrics and other "stuff" finally presented in this volume represent a sort of literary
archaeology, a time capsule from the late 1960's through the 70's.
After sitting nearly 40 to 50 plus years on a closet shelf these "moments" resonate still, their
essence not frozen in that time. From the profane to the sublime, the absurd to the sensual,
the perspective is wryly jaundiced yet remains resolutely humane.
Many of the pieces slap your consciousness in a way similar to a koan. You will likely find both
delights and affronts. So be it.
You may have to think and there will be some laughs, whether silly or rueful. That is enough.
